Book Description
For more than 30 years, Tom Petty has been writing and performing hit songs and rock and roll classics. He has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. His music has been the soundtrack to the lives of millions of people who grew up in the '70s, '80s and '90s. This celebratory, personal volume includes hundreds of photographs many never-before-published as well as a selection of memorabilia from Petty's personal archives, all of which help to illustrate the songwriter's own description of his amazing life and career. Publication of this book coincides with the theatrical release of a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers film documentary by Peter Bogdanovich and a four disc DVD/CD set. The fall of 2007 belongs to Tom Petty.

Reader Reviews
This 4-disc package is only available at BestBuy...kinda weird...but it's worth having. It's the director's cut of the documentary on Tom and his band (on discs 1 & 2), signifying 30 years in the biz (1976 to 2006), 4 hours long, featuring great concert footage (even Traveling Wilburys and Bob Dylan co-headlining tour footage!!!), vidclips, current interviews with Tom and the band, along with the late George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Stevie Nicks, Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder, Rick Rubin, Denny Cordell, Jimmy Iovine, family members, the works, a 3rd DVD of the full 30th Anniversary concert in hometown Gainsville, Florida, and the 4th disc is a CD of 9 rarities, of unreleased songs and rare versions played in the movie... This sucker was released on Warner Bros...exclusively for BestBuy, like I said, weird...it is a lovely package...the only quibble I have is it completely overlooks the "She's The One" period...it has 4 cards signifying this release, and info on this book with offers for purchase and a matching T-shirt. I'm curious if people are aware of this release???
