Operating either upright for meats and cheeses or easily tilted 30 degrees to "gravity-feed" vegetables, fruits, and bread to the blade, this food slicer makes it easy to prepare sandwiches for the family and the soccer team or prepare food for preserving in large quantities. The 130-watt condenser motor operates quietly and the carriage travels smoothly. The slicer's 7-inch surgical stainless-steel blade removes for cleaning and sharpening. A thickness adjustment knob calibrated in millimeters permits slicing from paper thin to about .6 inch. The slicer's open design permits access for large trays and platters to be situated directly under the blade. (A plastic tray is included.) Safety features include a hidden, childproof switch that prevents the slicer from being turned on, and an automatic on/off switch plate on the food carriage so the slicer shuts off as soon as the hand releases pressure. The parts disassemble easily for cleaning. Made of cast aluminum and stainless steel, the slicer weighs 13 pounds and measures 14 inches wide, 10.4 inches high, and 11-1/4 inches deep.
