The ancient Silk Road passed through a rich medley of cultures between Asia and Europe, where caravans carried spices, silks, precious metals, and other goods for trade. Passage dinnerware from Pfaltzgraff evokes this cultural mélange with its scrolling vines and floral motifs that could be straight off the Taj Mahal, and deep green and buff reactive glazes that produce a handcrafted, mottled look. This 16-piece dinnerware set makes a good starter set for a full collection. Included are four place settings, each of which consists of a dinner plate with green floral-tiled rim and smooth buff center; a salad plate, covered calico-style with scrolling vines; a deep bowl for cereal or ice cream, also covered with vines; and a green mug with patterned border.
