Sango designed this earthy dinnerware in the vein of Javanese pottery from Indonesia. Looking distinctly handmade, the Splash pattern shows every brushstroke swirl of matte brown and ochre glaze. Overlaid on the matte background of each piece are three splashes of glossy glaze, a milky coffee color bleeding into shades of green and blue. The result is a casual dinnerware set in which no two pieces are exactly the same. Allowing four people to sit down to eat together, this 16-piece dinnerware set contains four of each of the following: a 4-inch-high mug; a cereal-lover's generous 7-3/4-inch bowl; 8-1/4-inch salad plate; and an oversized 11-inch dinner plate. Made of stoneware with reactive glazes, the everyday ware is safe for the microwave and dishwasher. Product Description
Following the success of the Nova Brown pattern, Sango has come up with a new design also inspired by handcrafted pottery. The simple shapes provide uniformity and a sense of calm, while the reactive glazes make each piece a unique expression of ceramic artistry. Contrasting matte and gloss textures add another layer of interest. Tones range from pale ochre to rich brown to hints of purple and blue. Due to the nature of this product each piece varies in color, there are also minor surface irregularities.
